This is the camera I own. I LOVE this camera, it is waterproof up to 33 feet without an extra case! I have owned it since November 2008, in that time I've taken over 3,000 pictures with it, hundreds of which were underwater. I am including a few samples here of photos that I took, here in Hawaii. This camera does take pretty good photos. I'm not a professional photographer, I just want to be able to capture moments now and then. To me, a big part of living in Hawaii is the ocean, and so having a waterproof camera is great. It is also a very strong camera, supposedly able to withstand dropping several feet onto cement (I have not yet found the need to test that claim). It can also take video clips, as most cameras can these days.





My camera is the older model, they have a new model out. My camera is the Stylus 1030SW model, it is 10.1 Megapixels, this new model is over 12 Megapixels.


Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W290 12.1 MP Digital Camera with 5x Optical Zoom and Super Steady Shot Image Stabilization (Black). This is a nice camera, it has great quality shots, and can record high-definition video! Great general purpose camera in a rather slim profile.


Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H20/B 10.1 MP Digital Camera with 10x Optical Zoom and Super Steady Shot Image Stabilization. This camera is a larger size, and packs a 10x optical zoom. This is good if you need to zoom to take your pictures, this is about the best zoom you get without getting a more professional camera (and paying several times as much). It also records high-definition video!

These are a very cool new type of video camera... They are cheap, have higher quality video than most traditional home video cameras... The case is small, very portable, it saves it's video to flash memory like a digital camera, just plug it into your computer via USB. For a family just wanting to catch those special moments, this is what I would recommend.


This is the same camera as the one on the left, only difference is this one has a white body color instead of black.


A very cool video camera, meant for sports, surfing, etc. Also can take photos, is waterproof, and can automatically capture photos every few seconds...


This is the professional version of the camera to the left... this one records video in high definition, better than standard TV quality! It can also record at 60fps, which lets you play video back at half speed smoothly, so you can do slow-motion. Very nice camera.
